One of our own, David Shoch will present on sparrows of our region. On one MBC outing, I had the privilege to witness David’s expertise in recognizing sparrows.
David got his interests in birds early receiving his first Peterson guide when he was 7. His passion for birds was sparked by an American Redstart at eye level while doing chores in the backyard.
He studied biology and ecology as an undergrad at the University of Richmond, and went on to earn a Masters in Forestry from Duke University. He has been working in the conservation science field for entire career and has spent the past two decades supporting forest conservation efforts in the U.S. and worldwide. Additionally he has worked as a guide for Brian Patteson’s Seabirding tours in Hatteras, N.C., and for Cheesemans Ecology Safaris.
Please join us for this virtual meeting via Zoom with details to be sent to members and posted on our MBC facebook page.
