Please join Jenny Gaden and Stauffer Miller as they share the history of Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count, with focus on Charlottesville’s history with the project and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Charlottesville count.
Jennifer Gaden, a graduate of Smith College and Columbia University, has been interested in natural history and birds for most of her adult life. A retired outreach educator for the former Charlottesville chapter of the Virginia Museum of Natural History, she has been a longtime member and former president of the Piedmont Virginia Bird Club (formerly the Monticello Bird Club), an active member of the Virginia Society of Ornithology, the Ivy Creek Foundation, and founder of the Great South Bay Audubon Society on Long Island, New York. She is a a Master Naturalist and a recipient of the Virginia Society of Ornithology Eike Award for contributions to Virginia Birds and Virginia birding.
