Field Trip Leader: Susan Kirk, Susan Wright
Join us for an evening birding field trip to Bracketts Farm located in the center of the Greens Springs Historic District of Louisa County. Leaders will first guide participants around the farm’s large pond to look for waterfowl, kingfishers, sparrows and more. Afterwards, leader will guide interested participants to a spot along East Jack Jouett Road to look for Short-eared Owls, Northern Harriers, Eastern Meadowlarks, Red-headed Woodpeckers and more.
Please note the later start time and that daylight savings ends March 9. The late timing of this field trip is to arrive at the second location around sunset when the Short-eared Owls typically emerge to hunt.
