    Department of Forestry Field Trip – Required Sign-up

    Field Trip Leader: JoAnn Dalley

    JoAnn is leading a bird walk on the Nature trail at DoF (900 Natural Resources Drive) on April 9th from 7:30-9:30 (prior to the Charlottesville Area Tree Steward spring tree sale that runs from 10am -2 pm at the nursery there). 

    Last April she observed 23-27 avian species,  She maintains a 10-nesting box trail and volunteer with the Arboretum that is seeking certification. It is an eBird hotspot “Virginia Department of Forestry Campus” and a beautiful place to walk that is underused. 

    Participants should park and meet in the employee parking that is in the back of the main building. Sign-up is required, please email [email protected] if interested in attending.
