All birdwatchers, regardless of experience, are invited to participate in the 2024 Charlottesville Christmas Bird Count on Sunday, December 15, with a rain date of Sunday, December 22!
The Christmas Bird Count is a national survey of winter bird populations of North America run by the National Audubon Society. It has been in existence since 1900. This year marks 100 years of the Count in Charlottesville! Participants will explore Charlottesville and Albemarle County to find as many birds as possible during the 24 hours of the Count.

The evening of the Count, participants are welcome to join a Zoom video call at 7 PM to share your team’s sightings, especially rarities and high counts.
