PVBC is excited to announce a field trip to Castle Rock Farm, home of Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue. Registration is required for this field trip via SignUpGenius.com
Located in western Albemarle County, the farm spans 172 acres and includes open fields, acres of woodland, a small river, and edge habitats. We anticipate observing several species of warblers, many spring and summer songbirds, and a raptor or two. Field trip participants will walk primarily on the cleared edges of fields or along driveways and utility roads. Some hill climbing will be involved for the bird walk—at a minimum, participants will have to walk up a lengthy hill to access the parking area at the end of the field trip.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For field trips with a limit to the number of participants and thus a signup, indicating “going” on facebook DOES NOT count as signing up. There has unfortunately been some confusion and inadvertent over-attendance at field trips recently perhaps because of this. Please RSVP with the SignUp Genius link above.
