Ron Kingston was long-time member of the club, almost from its inception. His passion for bluebirds as well as purple martins is legendary. Ron established the Bluebird Trail at Ivy Creek Natural Area and for decades maintained and monitored the boxes. He was a force for years with the VA Bluebird Society, and he and his late wife, Priscilla, traveled extensively promoting bird conservation. Ron was also instrumental in organizing and promoting the Purple Martin Field Day, held annually in Louisa County, a festive celebration of birds which attracted participants from across the state.
