Club president, Guy Babineau, opened the Zoom meeting at 7:00 PM.
Membership: Guy presented the slate of board members to the membership for a vote.

Treasurer – Steve Templeman
Field Trips – Susan Babineau
Programs – Joanna Vondrasek
Communications – Will Kurtz
Membership – Scott Connuck
There being no objection, the nominees were accepted unanimously by the membership
Membership: Scott reported that the club had 245 members at the end of the last year in May 2022, and has 115 members so far this year.
Field Trips: Susan detailed upcoming events.
September 9 – VSO trip to Chincoteague. VSO membership is required for this trip.
September 10 – Secluded Farm field trip – 7:30 AM.
September 17 – Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The club will have a table of educational activities.
October 1 – First Saturday bird walk at Ivy Creek
Programs: Joanna introduced Jeremy Hyme, Professor in the Department of Biology; and Barbara Ballentine, Associate Professor in the Department of Biology, at Western Carolina University. They talked about their book Bird Talk: An Explanation of Avian Communication.
