Field Trips
Experienced and beginning birders are welcome on all of our field trips. Experienced leaders will lead each trip to help coordinate the trip. As a team, the group will learn where to find and how to identify an exciting variety of bird species. Often information is shared among the group about other exciting observations like butterfly and plant identification.
Several activities are planned for each month. All PVBC run events are local (Charlottesville and surrounding counties) and usually last two to three hours. Others, offered by the Virginia Society of Ornithology, of which we are a member club, may be in other parts of Virginia. These may include overnight trips and VSO membership is required. All activities are useful to hone your skills and enjoy the company of other birders in the outdoors.

Special Note: Most trips require early departure times that will allow us to reach our destinations to observe the birds when they are most active during the early morning hours.
