Piedmont Virginia Bird Club shares a financial report once a year to show how the Club is performing and how it uses its revenue. At the end of the 2024 fiscal year (June 30, 2024), our membership count was 205, slightly lower than last year’s count of 223. Our FY2024 budget projected a net income of $2,253 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. Our actual net was a loss of $335. As noted above, our membership decreased slightly, which produced less revenue than budgeted. Our expenses were also higher than budgeted due to necessary costs that the board approved to improve club outreach as well as increased contributions for projects including donations of birding supplies for schools and libraries, plants for Ivy Creek Natural Area, design of a new logo, and support for the Virginia Society of Ornithology’s Virginia Bird Breeding Atlas project. The Club had sufficient savings to weather this minor loss and the FY2025 budget is set up to result in a net gain.
Your membership contributions and donations help PVBC organize events, bring birdwatchers together, and support bird conservation projects. Thanks to Scott Connuck, our membership chair, and to all our members for their support. If you wish to become a member or make a donation, please visit our membership page.
