Our membership on June 30, 2023 of 223 was slightly lower than last year’s count of 241 members. Many thanks to Scott Connuck, our membership chair, and to all our members for their support.
Our FY2023 budget projected net income of $1,620 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. Our actual net income was $3,274. As noted above, our membership decreased slightly, which produced less revenue than budgeted. However, our expenses were also lower than budgeted. The budget anticipated a transition to in-person monthly meetings, but we continued to hold our monthly speaker presentations virtually until March, thus saving some facility fees and travel expenses. Two of our monthly speakers chose to waive their speaker fees. A scholarship included in the budget could not be granted, because the associated college course was cancelled with no relevant substitute course to take its place. As a result of the lower expenses, our net income was somewhat higher than expected.
