This was covered in the last two meetings so most of you know, but we have been getting inquiries as people are thinking about the cooler weather and feeding birds. We are grateful for the interest but will not be having the sale.
The board had to make a decision to have the sale or not during the time that the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources was advising us not to feed because of bird mortalities in Virginia. That advisory was since lifted but too late for the board to plan a birdseed sale this year. I know this is disappointing as the seed was good quality and a good price. I know many appreciated helping out with the mission of the club as well. And I also know some of us enjoyed volunteering and seeing people in person.
In terms of in-person events, the recent field trips have been well attended and a lot of fun – I hope to see you on one soon.
