On March 14th, the VABBA2 project will be hosting an all-day Atlas Kick-off meeting at VDGIF headquarters in Richmond. This event will feature a guest speaker sharing more about the importance of citizen science efforts in tackling today’s bird conservation challenges. We will have mini-workshops focused on various Atlas related topics, e.g. blockbusting targets for the final year of the project. Additionally, the day will be an opportunity to network with atlas coordinators and fellow volunteers and get ourselves jazzed for this final big year push in 2020! And lastly, any intrepid Atlasers staying overnight for the event can join us on an owling excursion!
Participation in this event will be free (thanks to VDGIF for hosting!), but we’d like folks to register so we can get a head count prior to the event. If you’d like to attend, please follow the link below to a registration form: https://forms.gle/bYibYBcxT1XEk2YG9
We hope to see you in March to help us launch our final Atlas field season with gusto! 🙂
