Finally, a Saturday arrived wherein the weather and the birds cooperated, making for a beautiful and productive field trip to Southern Albermarle County. Walker Catlett led his group of eleven on a bird walk exploring the rolling hills and ponds of Liberty Corner Farm and later took us to Stillfreds Pond. Highlights of the morning, to name a few among many, were views of Wood Ducks, Northern Harrier, Savannah Sparrow, Brown Creeper and finally hearing the welcome harbinger-of-spring song of a nearby Louisiana Waterthrush.
