This announcement serves to alert MBC members to the new entrance/exit gate in operation at Ivy Creek. The gate opens at 6:30am and closes at 8:30 pm. Cars cannot enter after 8:30pm, but vehicles inside the parking lot can still get out. When exiting Ivy Creek post 8:30, one must stop at a stop sign and not go beyond the stop line indicated, as a motion detector signals the gate to operate by swinging inward (toward exiting vehicles). This could cause problems if exiting vehicles fail to stay behind the safely-distanced stop line.
So, until we know exactly how this new system operates, be cautious and hyper alert when exiting Ivy Creek after dark. Keep a safe distance from the exit gate and any cars lined up in front of you, in case they (weren’t alert and) need to back up before exiting.
