Trip Name/Location: Outer Banks, NC
Date: March 9-11, 2018
Leader: John Holden
Total Attendance (including leaders): 15
Total # of Species Observed: 101
Thanks to John Holden for leading a wonderful weekend birding adventure to the Outer Banks. Fifteen birders were in attendance. This was a great turnout, considering it had been awhile since the club had tried a weekend trip. The weather was upper 40’s to low 50’s with sun and wind Friday, partly sunny and less breezy Saturday, and cloudy Sunday.
We chose to include birds identified by two or more MBC members on the trip. We counted both “heard” and “seen” birds, based on the ebird reports submitted by Guy and Susan Babineau.
Directing below is the total species list. To get a feel for the many locations we visited, what we saw and where, and accompanying photos taken by Guy,, scroll down further to the eBird checklists. (Many thanks to Guy and Susan for painstakingly reporting and documenting our trip!)
