The Monticello Bird Club has approved the Blue Ridge Young Birders Club Executive Board’s nomination of Baxter Beamer as the 2018 recipient of this year’s MBC Scholarship for a birding summer camp experience. Baxter will be attending the Hog Island “Mountains to Sea” Teen Bird Camp from June 24- 29.
After being notified that he was the recipient of this year’s MBC Scholarship, Baxter was thrilled. In his enthusiastic reply of thanks to MBC (via President Doug Rogers), he wrote, “I can’t thank you enough for helping to give me this fantastic opportunity. This will be the first young birder camp I have attended, and I simply cannot wait to go!”
Baxter will share his experiences at this new Audubon Teen Camp program with us in a future monthly meeting presentation. We look forward to vicariously enjoying your Hog Island adventures , Baxter!
