Call for Volunteers:
As an entirely volunteer organization, PVBC is always looking for bird enthusiasts to help lead walks and field trips, give public talks, table at outreach events, and present to our membership. If any of these opportunities interest you, whether it’s once a year or once a month, please fill out the form at the link below.
We’ll send opportunities to you by email, to which you can reply if you’re interested. You’re never under any obligation. Your information will be shared only with the PVBC board and others with your permission. Thank you for your interest!

ABOUT:
The Piedmont Virginia Bird Club is an informal group of about 200 people who join together to share their enthusiasm for birds. The 2024-2025 season marks our club’s thirty-ninth anniversary. Our meetings and field trips are always free and open to the public. If you want to learn more about bird identification and behavior, or if you just want to talk to others with similar interests, please join us soon on a field trip or at a meeting!
Field trips with experienced leaders to local or distant sites take us to where the birds are. Follow this link for information about our currently scheduled field trips.
Piedmont Virginia Bird Club monthly meetings feature invited speakers from throughout the state who share their expertise with entertaining and informative presentations. Meeting time is 7:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, September through May. The club normally meets in the Education Building at Ivy Creek Natural Area located on Earlysville Road, about a half mile from the intersection of Hydraulic Road, just before the reservoir.
